Climate Change Capital advises Vattenfall on push into UK renewables market
(LONDON - 10 November 2008) Climate Change Capital's ("CCC") advisory team have been the advisors to Vattenfall's recent push into the UK renewables market, the UK investment manager and advisor announced today after Vattenfall concluded their third deal in as many months.
Today Vattenfall announced they had bought the rights to build the Thanet wind farm, a 300MW farm to be constructed off the Kent coast, from Christofferson, Robb and Co. This follows a deal in October when CCC advised the Swedish power company on their £127m purchase of Amec Wind Energy, with a capacity of nearly 600MW and a deal in September when Vattenfall bought Eclipse Energy for £51.5m whose projects have 200 MW capacity.
Ian Temperton, CCC's managing director of advisory, said: "We are pleased to have assisted Vattenfall in becoming a major developer of renewable energy in the UK."
