Climate Change Capital Private Equity invests a further £7.5m into portfolio company Climate Energy Ltd

(LONDON - 14 May 2010) Climate Change Capital Private Equity ("CPE") has invested a further £7.5m into its majority owned portfolio company Climate Energy, a leading energy efficiency services firm. The proceeds have enabled Climate Energy to enter into an agreement to acquire Creative Environmental Networks ("CEN") for an undisclosed sum. Climate Energy has also appointed a high-profile non-executive Chairman, Mark Davies former CEO of Connaught Plc a FTSE 250 listed business and Britain's largest social housing integrated services group.

Like Climate Energy, CEN is an organisation delivering a range of services to engage householders, businesses and communities in environmental and social improvement. The acquisition of CEN has strengthened the group, making it the largest Energy Savings Trust advice partner in the UK, now offering a broad range of services in helping members of the public to reduce energy bills and cut carbon emissions.

Andrew Holmes, Climate Energy's Managing Director, commented, "The combination of CEN and
Climate Energy positions the group to deliver our customers the widest range of advice and services available from a single provider in this market place. The purchase is a natural step in growing our business platform across the UK." He added, "We are proud and delighted that Mark is joining us. He will add experience to the board and will be a great asset to the organisation. Mark is as passionate about sustainability and the environment as we are and I know his knowledge and commitment will bring great value to Climate Energy and to the industry now and into the future."

Alex Betts, Partner of CPE commented, "The appointment of Mark Davies as non-executive chairman at Climate Energy will support the business in managing its rapid growth sustainably. Mark's experience with Connaught will be valuable to Climate Energy as the focus of the UK energy efficiency market moves to whole-house measures and larger social schemes such as the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP)"

Mark Davies said: "Since taking the decision to move on from Connaught earlier this year I have been seeking new challenges and opportunities. Climate Energy is a first class company which offers a great platform for the future reduction of carbon in the built environment."

The acquisition follows the Climate Energy management buyout in July last year. The management buyout signalled the beginning of a new growth phase for Climate Energy.
