Climate Change Capital's Kate Hampton named 'Young Global Leader'

(LONDON - 11th March 2008) Climate Change Capital's Director of Market Development and Head of Policy, Kate Hampton has been recognised as a 'Young Global Leader' by the World Economic Forum (WEF) today.

The honour is bestowed by WEF, the organisation that runs the annual conference in Davos, to recognise and acknowledge the top 200-300 young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future world.

As well as advising Climate Change Capital's funds and clients on the development of policy-driven markets, Kate Hampton (33) has been instrumental in shaping climate change policy through a number of roles including advisor to the EU High Level Group on Competitiveness, Energy and Environment and as a staffer to the California Environmental Protection Agency's Market Advisory Committee.

Kate is Co-Founder and President of International Carbon Investors and Services, a trade association representing investment banks on climate policy, including in the review of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.

She was also seconded by Climate Change Capital to DEFRA as a Senior Policy Advisor to the UK's G8 summit and EU Presidencies.

Kate was recently promoted to Director of the Market Development team; Climate Change Capital's internal policy think-tank dedicated to monitoring, anticipating and influencing environment and energy policy.

Prior to CCC, Kate was Head of the Climate Change Campaign for Friends of the Earth International and Convenor of the Green Globe Network, an expert advisory group funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
