United Nations Private Sector Forum
James Cameron, Vice Chairman, will be joining approximately 300
Heads of State and Government, chief executives, civil society
leaders and Heads of UN Agencies to participate in the UN Private
Sector Forum on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), to be
chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The "green economy" roundtable discussion that James will be
joining, will examine current efforts to promote the transition to
a green economy - characterized by substantially increased
investments in economic sectors that build on and enhance the
earth's natural capital and reduce ecological scarcities and
environmental risks, while improving human wellbeing and social
equity.
The discussion will focus on steps that can be taken to unleash
the innovation and dynamism of the private sector to help bring
about transformative changes needed for the realization of a green
economy. These ideas and actions will provide fresh impetus to
achieve the MDGs and more broadly reinvigorate the world economy by
contributing to the creation of decent jobs while simultaneously
seeking to reduce poverty, carbon dependency, ecosystem degradation
and water scarcity.

benefit from additional corporate engagement and support can be
