Taylor Wessing Future Energy Forum

Alex Betts, Partner, CPE, will be speaking on the cleantech panel at this year's Future Energy Forum. His panel will be followed by a debate and Q&A session and then followed by a renewables panel, again followed by a debate and a Q&A session.

The cleantech panel will discuss the following themes:

• Is the gravitation towards later stage deals irreversible?
• Which sectors and countries offer the best opportunities for cleantech investment and why?
• Is there a viable funding model to develop technologies which are capital intensive such as marine power?
• Even if a technology is not capital intensive, such as smart metering, how can its rollout be financed?
• Is it realistic to expect government to share some of the funding burden of early stage cleantech companies?
• Are utilities and energy companies likely to have an increasing involvement in cleantech and if so is this through acquisition, funding or both?
• Could more be done through political and regulatory frameworks to encourage investment in cleantech?

This will then be followed by 20 minutes of audience Q&A.
