RenewableUK event with Mainstream Renewable Power

Stephen Lilley, Managing Director, European Renewable Energy Infrastructure Team, will be speaking at the inaugural RUK breakfast meeting at Barcap where the topic for discussion will be Funding Round 3: Direction of Policy Support.

The main purpose of the debate is to discuss where the money is coming from for Round 3, more precisely what is the shape of the financial  instruments to channel money from Sovereign Wealth Funds and Institutional Investors (life assurance and insurance companies, pension funds). Another key point for discussion is to what extent policy led support instruments are necessary as catalyst for the money and what is the emerging direction of policy support - the Electricity Market Review will be still in process when the event takes place.

Gordon Edge (Director of Policy at RenewableUK) will  introduce the session and provide an overview presentation on the RO and options that government has put out in the Electricity Market Reform consultation followed by presentations from:

  • Fintan Whelan of Mainstream Renewable Power (Developer's perspective)
  • Stephen Lilley, Climate Change Capital (Equity perspective)
  • Colin Pollock Vice President, Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Team, Investment Banking - Barclays Capital (Capital Markets perspective).

These presentations will be followed by a debate/Q&A session.
