James Cameron, Vice Chairman, will be speaking at this year's Carbon Expo. His panel will be looking at international policy & market context and will include a discussion of interaction of Australian action & markets with international approaches.

His panel will be giving an overview of the latest developments and trends in international policy responses to GHG abatement and mitigation. What are the
challenges and opportunities for setting emissions reduction objectives, emerging carbon markets, and investment in the low-carbon
economy? The session will consider:

  • emerging national and international policy action & market developments in the USA, Europe, Asia, Australia & New Zealand
  • what is happening with the EU ETS ?
  • interaction of Australian action & markets with international markets
    where is the global carbon price going & why
  • what is likely at the Durban COP? Will there be a KP2 ? Prospects for meaningful international policy action post-2012
