How the Cancun climate talks will impact your business

Climate Minister Greg Barker will deliver the keynote address at this evening event on the impact of the Cancun summit on British businesses. Barker will be followed by a series of short lectures from:

  • James Cameron, Vice Chairman, CCC,
  • Damian Ryan of the Climate Group
  • Adam Gibbon of Rainforest Alliance

All speakers will be focussing on how possible agreements on climate financing, forestry protection and emissions targets could affect UK firms

The lectures will all assess the state of the negotiations leading into the crucial round of talks in Cancun. It will look at how the talks have moved forward, and in some instances drifted backwards, since last year's Copenhagen Summit and assess whether countries have adhered to the Copenhagen Accord. It will also look at the main sticking points that have hampered the talks over the past year, such as the stand off between the US and China, as well as the negotiating tactics that are likely to be deployed in Cancun and the areas where a deal could be brokered.
