Making profits for a cleaner cause

The carbon markets have come a long way and so have the people behind them, writes Hans Kundnani

“It’s definitely attracted a mixed crowd,” says James Cameron of Climate Change Capital, a fund manager and adviser... Mr Cameron has been around since the inception of the carbon market. A former barrister, he started out working for not-for-profit organisations such as the Centre for International Environmental Law and wrote legal opinions for Greenpeace on how to sue the US government for failing to address climate change. His company now has $1.5bn under management but he still sees himself as an environmental evangelist."
