Turn the public good into wealth

In The National - Abu Dhabi's English speaking daily newspaper -  James Cameron, CCC's Co-founder and Vice Chairman asserts that the financial crisis and the increasing urgency of global climate change could combine to offer a way out of both.

"There is certainly money around if only those who hold the wealth will seize the day. I believe that two particular sectors hold the key – the institutional investors and governments. Between them, representing both, are the sovereign wealth funds. All have a duty to view their wealth in the long term. We have a capital flow problem, not a capital problem and we do not need to trade off economic returns against environmental returns. There is today, thanks to the intervention of governments, a value for carbon. If you know what you are doing you can make money delivering a public good."
