Investment banks scramble to join clean energy market

Carbon trading has doubled in the last year and London is leading the way, writes Rebecca Bream.


"Banks are investing heavily in carbon trading... Last year, Goldman said it was investing $23m in a 10 per cent stake in the London-listed Climate Exchange. Morgan Stanley plans to invest $3bn (£1.52bn) in the carbon trading market over the next five years. Niche players have also emerged, such as Climate Change Capital, a London-based firm which runs two funds investing in emission reduction projects in emerging markets, and has more than €750m under management."
