CCC Shortlisted for Financial Times Sustainable Banking Award

Climate Change Capital (CCC)  has been short-listed for the 'FT Achievement in Carbon Finance Award'. The award recognises groundbreaking initiatives and transactions in any area of carbon finance - from carbon trading, to low-emission housing and car finance, to eco-insurance and carbon hedge funds.

More than 100 institutions from 51 countries submitted entries to the 2007 FT Sustainable Banking Awards. CCC was one of five shortlisted for the Carbon Finance Award.

CCC, which is dedicated to investment in clean energy and a low carbon economy, created the world's largest private sector carbon fund with €800m under management.. The fund, known as the Climate Change Capital Carbon Fund II (C4F2), took only three months to reach first close.

The judging panel will select a winner and runner-up in each award category at their next meeting in June.  The winners and runners-up will be announced at an awards dinner in London on June 7, to be attended by 250 decision-makers from the areas of banking and sustainable development.
