CCC sells £56m stake to investors
Climate Change Capital, one of the biggest companies in the fledgling carbon trading market, raised £56m by selling a substantial stake to four institutional investors, writes Fiona Harvey.
"Four investors - Alliance Trust, the Universities Superannuation Scheme, SNS Real and Mitsui & Co - will together own more than 50 per cent of the business, leaving employees, including the board and senior management, with about 30 per cent. The investors will also put £20m into a new fund of funds. Climate Change Capital also said Vivienne Cox, the chief executive of BP's alternative energy business, would join its board as a non-executive director."
